Monette, a travelling salesman in books, confesses to a priest. He took a hitchhiker and told him about his cheating wife, her gambling addict, embezzlement, his worries and the new boyfriend of hers. At a rest stop the deaf and mute hitchhiker is gone. He has taken a Christopher medal from Monette’s car.
