2004 1st Annual Dollar Baby Film Festival
The first Dollar Baby Film Festival in the USA was in the end of 2004. Just a year after StephenKingShortMovies.com was started.
As part of the 1st Annual Dollar Baby Film Festival, Paranoid will screen at the University of Maine at Orono on September 25th at 7:00PM in the Corbett Business Building’s 300+ seat theater. The event will include two hours worth of rarely-seen adaptations of King’s works and a Q&A with directors following. Tickets will be $5 at the door and the proceeds will be donated to the Wavedancer Foundation, to support artists injured in accidents. Tickets are on sale the night of the show on a first come, first serve basis. No reservations.

In 2005 the 2nd Dollar Baby Film Festival was at the University of Maine at Orono on September 30th and October 1th in the Corbett Business Building’s 300+ seat theater. Tickets will be $5 at the door and the proceeds will be donated to the Wavedancer Foundation, to support artists injured in accidents. Tickets are on sale the night of the show on a first come, first serve basis. No reservations.
The 2nd Annual Dollar Baby Film Festival will feature:
A Friday (September 30, 2005) night Premiere of Stephen King’s Gotham Cafe, produced by Julie Sands and adapted in part by Bev Vincent. A screening of Riding the Bullet, directed by Mick Garris will follow. Directors and producers will be on hand for a Q&A. This event will take place at Cinema 10 in Bangor at 8PM. Tickets are $8.
Then, on Saturday Oct. 1, the fest moves to the Corbett Business Building at the University of Maine in Orono. Screenings are divided into three blocks of films and two panels, beginning at noon.

Panels on Saturday will include “How to Deliver Your Own Dollar Baby”, featuring many directors who have already been through the process. And “A Conversation and Booksigning with Rocky Wood”, author of Stephen King: Uncollected, Unpublished.

At the 2013 Comicpalooza Texas International Comic Con will have a line up of seventeen Stephen King Dollar Babies. (17) Dollar Babies are not easy to find, as you usually have to hunt them down in the mix of other independent movies, so to have so many together at once is great news.
Lealos announced that there will be three screenings, spread over the three days of the convention, from May 24-26.
