Danilo Breskovic Essedin
He played in Albert Hamilton‘s Fletcher as Fletcher.
SKSM: Could you start with telling me a little bit about yourself? Who are you and what do you do?
Danilo Breskovic Essedin: My name is Danilo Rachid Breskovic Essedin. I am 45 years old, my father is Croatian and my mother is Lebanese. I live in Chile, in the city of Punta Arenas in Patagonia, and I work in Administration and Business Management.
SKSM: When did you start acting and where did you train?
Danilo Breskovic Essedin: I started acting in 1996, in a short film directed by Albert Hamilton. I have always liked acting and the world of the arts. I didn’t study at any institute, but I did attend acting workshops sporadically to hone my talent, since I love acting.
SKSM: What else do you do besides acting?
Danilo Breskovic Essedin: I have been involved in the world of television since 1997. I am a presenter of TV shows. I have also worked as a model, I have recorded commercials and I acted as an extra in the film Tierra del Fuego. I was the third finalist in an extreme sports reality show, which was a competition between 5 countries and I am passionate about mountain races, trail running.
SKSM: How did you become involved in Fletcher Dollar Baby film?
Danilo Breskovic Essedin: I got involved with Fletcher when the director offered me the role of the NY Times reporter. He told me that I had the talent and ability to bring this character to the stage and that when he thought of Fletcher he always thought of me.
SKSM: What do you think it is about the story that attracts people so much?
Danilo Breskovic Essedin: What the story of the film has and attracts viewers is that from weakness comes inner strength, which we all have inside to survive and get out alive from any risky situation, that many times we are an angel, but under intense pressure we become a devil.
SKSM: Did you have to audition for the part or was it written directly for you?
Danilo Breskovic Essedin: I didn’t have to audition, but I must say that the director of the film,did think of me for the lead role.
SKSM: What was Fletcher like on set when he wasn’t in front of the camera?
Danilo Breskovic Essedin: Fletcher was a very entertaining, funny guy and always involved with his character, willing to do everything the director asked for in each scene, so that it was very real.
SKSM: You worked with Albert Hamilton on this film, how was that?
Danilo Breskovic Essedin: Working with Albert Hamilton is always pleasant since we have known each other for many years, I know how professional and methodical he is, and what he wants to convey to the viewers, his thoroughness and details is what captivates me to take on this great project together, working we are a great duo.
SKSM: What are you working on nowadays?
Danilo Breskovic Essedin: I am currently in the administration and management of the KUHL clothing brand in the US, here in Patagonia.
SKSM: Are you a fan of Stephen King’s work?
Danilo Breskovic Essedin: I don’t really know if I should call myself a fan, but I like the way he writes and his genre.The way he describes each scene in his books, with all its details, that captivates me.
SKSM: What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
Danilo Breskovic Essedin: Perhaps people might be surprised that I am also a cameraman and photographer, as well as a therapist in medical biomagnetism, which is a profession that I also practice.
