Jeroen Klokgieters
He played in Leyla Everaers‘s Dollar Baby Tijger as David.
SKSM: Could you start with telling me a bit about yourself? Who are you and what do you do?
Jeroen Klokgieters: I am Jeroen Klokgieters, I am 13 years old now. When we made the movie ‘Tiger’ I was 11 years old. Except going to school, my main occupation is snowboarden, I train at least three times per week. Apart from snowboarding my hobbies are acting, making movies myself, playing guitar and making music.
SKSM: How did you become involved in ‘Tiger’?
Jeroen Klokgieters: I am registered at a casting agency for children. One day they called me to do an audition for the Netherlands Film Academy. I did a screen-test and 10 minutes later, on my way home, they called me and offered me the part.
SKSM: Did you have to do audition for the part or was it written directly for you?
Jeroen Klokgieters: I had to do an audition/screentest.
SKSM: You worked with Leyla Everaers on this film, how was that?
Jeroen Klokgieters: She is a very good director. She knows what she wants in detail and she prepared everything.
SKSM: Was there any funny or special moment when they made the movie that you would like to tell me about?
Jeroen Klokgieters: When we were making the movie, I had to wait very long sometimes (that is always the case when you are making a movie), but Leyla had an old playstation with ‘teken’. That was fun, so I always played when I had to wait. Overall, we had lots of fun together, talking about all kinds of things.
SKSM: Do you still have any contact with the crew/cast from that time? If so with who?
Jeroen Klokgieters: No, I don’t have any contact. That is usually the case when you finish a movie.
SKSM: What did you do after ‘Tiger’?
Jeroen Klokgieters: Many auditions, sometimes a movie or a commercial. In the Netherlands you are not allowed to “work” so much, it depends on your age how many hours you can do something. (imdb.com)
SKSM: What do you think of the film ‘Tiger’ now it’s finished? Is there anything that you did (when you act) where you now think I would have done this different?
Jeroen Klokgieters: Usually no; I think the film is great as it is.
SKSM: Are you (or were you) a fan of Stephen King’s work?
Jeroen Klokgieters: No, I actually didn’t know him before the movie. But now I played in this movie I know more of him.
SKSM: Is there anything else you want to say to the fans that read this interview?
Jeroen Klokgieters: Well about Stephen King: I have heard the story many times and I think he is a great writer!
