Jorik Prins
He played in Leyla Everaers‘s Dollar Baby Tijger as Sjoerd.
SKSM: Could you start with telling me a bit about yourself? Who are you and what do you do?
Jorik Prins: I’m Jorik Prins, I’m 16 years old. I have lived in Diemen my entire life. I started acting when i’m was 12 years old at the Jeugd Theater School Zuid-Oost (JTSZO). At the age of 13 i started film, debuted in ‘DON‘. At the moment i’m in my first year of the study ‘Theater’ at ROC Amsterdam.
SKSM: How did you become involved in Tyger?
Jorik Prins: I got introduced to the director of the movie, Leyla Everaers, through my casting agency ‘Kemna Casting‘.
SKSM: Did you have to audition for the part or was it written directly for you?
Jorik Prins: It wasn’t especially written for me, but the recommendation from the casting agency was enough.
SKSM: You worked with Leyla Everaers on this film, how was that?
Jorik Prins: It was very fun. She really helped me to get into the story. That improved my acting.
SKSM: Was there any funny or special moment when they made the movie that you would like to tell me about?
Jorik Prins: I did a stunt in the movie, i got a robe around my waste and got pulled back many times. It was a real shitty job for one single crew-member, because he had to cover himself up with black curtains, so he wouldn’t ‘get got’ on camera.
SKSM: Do you still have any contact with the crew/cast from that time? If so with who?
Jorik Prins: No. But I saw Leyla on the set of Genji again.
SKSM: What did you do after Tyger?
Jorik Prins: After Tyger i did a couple of guest appearences in TV-series, a short story for KRO ‘Genji‘ and I did my second long movie ‘Skin‘. I appeared in “Daltons: 7 jaar later“, “Spangas“, “Keyzer & de Boer Advocaten” en “Roes“.
SKSM: You are only been seen at the near end of the film, didn’t you wish that you have done more?
Jorik Prins: Well, yeah of course. But I still enjoyed the experience of playing in the film. And the size of the role doesn’t matter to me.
SKSM: Are you (or were you) a fan of Stephen King’s work?
Jorik Prins: Not really a fan but I do think that the movies, just the stories, are brilliant.
SKSM: Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. Is there anything else you want to say to the fans that read this interview?
Jorik Prins: Go watch TYGER,…..if it’s possible…. 😛
