SKSM: Could you start with telling me a little bit about yourself? Who are you and what do you do?
Lisa Hinds: My name is Lisa Hinds I grew up in Northern Maine. I’ve been married for 30 years to Jim and we have two grown daughters. I enjoy archaeology digs, travel, photography, sailing, fishing, acting, either attending or being a Platinum Guide for Walker Stalker Con or Hero’s and Villains Fan Fest.
SKSM: When did you know you wanted to become an actress?
Lisa Hinds: I was at a Hero’s and Villains Fan Fest event and I spoke with Robbie Amell. I asked what was up next for him and he said he was making a movie Code 8 and they needed extras. That was it my friend Michelle Hill and Ashleigh Hinds White and Courtney Hinds all went to Toronto and we were all extras.
SKSM: How did you become involved in For The Road Dollar Baby film?
Lisa Hinds: I contacted the Director Simon Scott when I found it on Indiegogo.
SKSM: What do you think it is about the story that attracts people so much?
Lisa Hinds: I’m sure everyone has a different opinion on this but for me as a serious Stephen King fan it’s the suspense and the characters.
SKSM: Did you have to audition for the part or was it written directly for you?
Lisa Hinds: It was written for me my character Lisa King.
SKSM: You worked with Simon Scott on this film, how was that?
Lisa Hinds: Absolutely incredible! Everyone involved from the cast to the crew made my husband and I feel like family. Simon actually wrote a part for my husband he was the Old Timer in the corner. So we were able to sit at a table in the bar all night together. It was like we were dating!
SKSM: Was there any funny or special moment when they made the movie that you would like to tell me about?
Lisa Hinds: We flew into Portland Oregon picked up our rental car and that evening at 10:00 pm we headed out to the Mt Hood National Forest where they were filming. It was pitch back it’s raining then getting to higher elevation it’s sleeting then snowing. Jim looks at me and says Lisa we are going to end up like those people getting lost on the weather channel. No extra water, food or blankets. Just then we see these bright lights up ahead.
SKSM: Do you still have any contact with the crew/cast from that time? If so with who?
Lisa Hinds: Yes I’m friends with Simon Scott, Gwyn Laree and Jeffrey Arrington through Facebook.
SKSM: What are you working on nowadays?
Lisa Hinds: Since then I was in The Doctors Case, Code 8, and coming up I have A Castle For Emily, Peter, Johnny Z and another Dollar Babies One For The Road.
SKSM: Are you a fan of Stephen King’s work?
Lisa Hinds: He is an incredible story teller to say I’m a fan is an understatement. That’s why I’m always on the lookout for Dollar Babies projects.
SKSM: What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
Lisa Hinds: My Husbands Family and my Family arrived in America on the same ship in Plymouth Colony in 1623 on The Anne.
SKSM: Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. Is there anything you want to say to the fans that read this interview?
Lisa Hinds: Doing these projects had been an incredible experience and I’m very fortunate to have the support of my husband James Hinds and my good friend Michelle Hill as we do a lot of these projects together.
