He played in Derek Simon’s Dollar Baby A Very Tight Place as Ricky Vinton.

SKSM: Could you start with telling me a little bit about yourself? Who are you and what do you do?

Martin Pfefferkorn: Hi, I’m a Working Character Actor/Director/Professional Zombie/MacGyver that resides in the NYC metro area and can be seen in JUST about anything that shoots here. I specialize in Horror/Fantasy characters (esp. Zombies) BUT I make my living, so to speak, playing the ‘bottom-of-the barrel’ characters (lol) – Homeless, Junkies, Perps, Mental Patients (you get the idea, lol)

SKSM: When did you know you wanted to become an actor?

Martin Pfefferkorn: I really ONLY wanted to do VOs (as I’ve always had a talent for accents/impressions) and had NO interest in being ON camera BUT, whereever you can get your foot in the door (lol)

SKSM: How did you become involved in A very tight place Dollar Baby film?

Martin Pfefferkorn: I believe I answered a casting posting online.

SKSM: What do you think it is about the story that attracts people so much?

Martin Pfefferkorn: King is dealing w/alota things people can identify with: Feuding w/your neighbor, a man’s love of his dog, how far a person would go when put into a life or death situation

SKSM: You worked with Derek Simon on this film, how was that?

Martin Pfefferkorn: Derek was great to work with, as was entire crew/cast. This was an NYU student proj, but, as I’VE discoverfed, THESE are sometimes MORE “professional” than some of the Professional ones.

SKSM: Was there any funny or special moment when they made the movie that you would like to tell me about?

Martin Pfefferkorn: It was a good 8 yrs ago that we did it, so I don’t remember anything SPECIFIC but I think they REALLY enjoyed my dying into the bowl (lol)

SKSM: Do you still have any contact with the crew/cast from that time? If so with who?

Martin Pfefferkorn: I have an online connection w/Derek, Christine & some of the crew. Probably the person I’ve most stayed in contact w/is Patrick (Curtis); though Barbara Ann (Mrs Wilson) is the person I’ve worked the MOST with.

SKSM: What are you working on nowadays?

Martin Pfefferkorn: It’s the beginning of the yr, SO, I’m waiting for things to develop (AND it’s been EXCEEDINGLY COLD! lol). I’ve got some work on TV show ‘Elementary‘ as a “Steampunk Con Attendee”. I was recently featured on the SyFy series ‘Happy!‘ & as “Moses” on an episode of The Travel Chanels ‘Mysteries at the Museum‘.

SKSM: Are you a fan of Stephen King’s work?

Martin Pfefferkorn: I AM, but I don’t think I’ve actually READ any of them, unfortunatly lol.

SKSM: What one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

Martin Pfefferkorn: That I’ve helped co-write MANY Children’s Musicals! (esp. since Musicals are NOT my thing lol)

SKSM: Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. Is there anything you want to say to the fans that read this interview?

Martin Pfefferkorn: Thanks for being interested in those of us who are in the “trenches”, as opposed to the “stars” of the entertainment industry.

SKSM: Do you like to add anything else?

Martin Pfefferkorn: You can always check out my IMDB for my credits but if you really want to SEE some of my work, go to  www.youtube.com/user/nrokp.
